1 CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
After the Initial Meeting, we begin our collaborative process to develop a range of conceptual design ideas. At this stage, the floor plan is not yet finalized or set in stone, allowing us the flexibility to explore various shapes and sizes for the spaces within your project. We take the time to thoroughly discuss the adjacencies of different spaces, ensuring that each area complements the others effectively. Additionally, we review a comprehensive list of priorities and engage with many more so-called "homework" items that are crucial for the design process. This exploration helps us create a thoughtful and functional layout tailored to your needs.2 DESIGN REFINEMENT
After the initial layout has been thoroughly reviewed and assessed, we may engage in several detailed back-and-forth conversations that help refine the layout significantly to ensure you are completely happy with all the spaces, as well as their sizes and adjacencies. Additionally, during this critical and formative phase, we will explore various exciting exterior design options, discuss different exterior materials thoroughly, and consider shapes and overall volume to create a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing look. The ultimate goal at the end of this phase is to have the floor plan locked in firmly and the exterior design to be approved, ensuring everything aligns with your vision.3 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
The final stage of our comprehensive design process is to carefully examine every corner and attend to all interior and exterior details. We strive to ensure that with our thorough drawings and visual representation we can effectively communicate the design intent to your chosen general contractor or builder. This critical stage is often the longest and demands significant coordination on our part with various manufacturers to ensure that we fully comprehend how to best utilize their products in your project. Moreover, if any specialized consultants are engaged, we take the time to conduct our due diligence, ensuring that your design is meticulously thought through from every conceivable angle and across every discipline involved. Once we confidently complete this essential part of the design journey, you will have fully prepared construction documents ready for submission for the necessary permit approvals.
